Stephen Perkins, The WC Gallery: A Brief History of a Very Small Space, Chicago: Temporary Services, 2014
A handsome 22-page Risograph brochure that traces the history of the WC from its beginning in 2003 to 2014 (see below). Includes an introduction in which I explain why I started the gallery and I survey a number of the exhibitions that have taken place during this 12 year period. Printed by my friend Marc Fischer through his Temporary Services publishing project during the time that it was one group featured in a large exhibition curated by Mary Ann Jacob at the Sullivan Galleries, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, titled A Proximity of Consciousness: Art and Social Action, that ran from Sept. 20 - Dec. 20, 2014. Other artists in the show were: Jim Duignan, Pablo Helguera, Inigo Manglano-Ovalle, Dan Peterman, Pocket Guide to Hell, J. Morgan Puett, Michael Rakowitz, Tamms Year Ten and Laurie Jo Reynolds, and Rirkrit Tiravanija. For info about ordering a copy ($5) follow this link: Half Letter Press
